Little Kaleidoscope Table offers nutrition education and cooking workshops to children throughout the Perth metropolitan area. Our facilitator, Narelle is a qualified Nutritionist and mum with over a decade of experience in nutrition education and has delivered hundreds of workshops to a variety of ages and cultural groups. She is passionate about teaching children about good nutrition in order to instil healthy eating habits from a young age that will then last a lifetime!
Our workshops are very hands-on and interactive and provide a safe and fun learning environment which provide children with some essential life skills. Children will learn about kitchen safety, food safety and preparation. various cooking methods, team work, where our food comes from, what foods are healthy, why it's important to eat healthy food and how to enhance and flavour food without loads of sugar, salt or fat. At least two recipes are cooked at each workshop which are then enjoyed together as a group. Colourful recipe cards are provided to each participant in a take-home goodie bag.
Some workshops also include a gardening component where participants get the opportunity to plant and take home a miniature herb garden.
Kids workshops will be run in the school holidays and after school during school terms. All classes are held at Maylands Yacht Club. Parents are most welcome to stay at the workshop, or take a well deserved break for a few hours whilst your little one is busy cooking up a storm!
All food, equipment and apron provided. Classes are limited to 10 so please book early to avoid disappointment. Only nut allergies can be catered for given the nature of the classes.
